I live in a nuclear family. My family isn’t big. I’m an only child in the family.

         Living in a nuclear family has some advantages and disadvantages. The main advantage is that nobody interferes the way the way the family runs the house. Sometimes it’s very annoying and may lead to conflicts. There can’t be two housewives in one kitchen. I have a room, and it’s my private space.

         But the disadvantage is that the parents have less free time.

         When I was a child it was a problem who will look after me when the parents were at work. Sometimes I stayed at home alone. It helped me to become independent. I learnt to cook food, to tidy up the rooms, to wash up dishes. Sometimes I went to work with my parents or grandparents. That’s why I know the specific of some professions.

         It is considered that children in nuclear families don’t know many relatives. But I think it depends on the family. We visit grandparents very often. We help them in everything. And elder generation feel the necessity and support.
